Far infrared

Far Infrared (Far Infrared, abbreviated FIR) generally refers to light waves in the 15~1000µm region of the spectrum, which belongs to the wavelength range of infrared rays. [1] It is located on the outside of the red light in the visible light spectrum and is invisible light. Different academic circles often define the range of far-infrared differently. For example, in astronomy, far-infrared is often defined as electromagnetic waves with wavelengths between 25 µm and 350 µm. [2] Organisms can feel their presence in the form of “hot”.

There is currently no reliable evidence that it has a medical effect.

Far infrared rays and health applications

Far-infrared therapeutic apparatus is a far-infrared instrument used in medical treatment (no reliable source) [5] [ requires a third-party source ] [6] [7] [ requires a third-party source ].  In the field of traditional Chinese medicine, the penetrating ability of far-infrared rays is also used to replace the more invasive acupuncture and moxibustion, which is also less polluting than burning moxa moxibustion [8] .
